The English Table outside catering company is run by husband and wife team Hilary and Steve Mabbutt. Steve and Hilary moved to Devon from London seven years ago and initially set up an award winning fine dining restaurant in the Devon countryside - “ The English House” In 2006 the couple started an outside catering business - The English Table from demand from their restaurant customers. Due to the success of the English Table the couple operate this business solely now.  
 
The English Table is operated from their previous restaurant business, a large Victorian property set in two acres of grounds, perfect for the growing of herbs and vegetables, on the coast road between Shaldon and Torquay. The business has a large commercial kitchen, private tasting room and meeting rooms.  
The English Table caters for all types of weddings, private parties and special events but specialises in contemporary catering - gorgeous food with a contemporary presentation, from glass candelabras to terracotta drink chillers.  
 
Wine, drinks and cocktails can be provided or alternatively waiting staff can be provided to manage your own drinks.  
 
The company specialises in creating bespoke menus - high quality food, with a modern twist . They are happy to discuss any individual menus/requests with you - with a little practicality and experience thrown in!!  
 
This year the English Table has catered for a dinner party for six to a ball for five hundred and sixty across three marquees!  
 
They cater for quite a few PR/corporate events and would be happy to provide references - Last summer they also catered for an event that Linda Barker the interior designer opened. 
Steve is a London trained chef of 25 years - having worked in prestigious hotels, private establishments and restaurants. Hilary ran a group of restaurants in retail prior to moving to Devon. She specialises in event management - making sure that your event is professionally run and organised - leaving you to enjoy the day.
